Revit 2027 add-ins:
upgrade without losing your tools.

Every Revit release breaks some add-ins. Since 2025 the reason is usually the .NET 8 platform; with 2027 it is the same platform plus API changes. Here is how to check before you move a project, and how Parapet handles it.

Upgrade checklist for add-ins

  1. List what you actually use. %AppData%\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2026\ and %ProgramData%\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2026\ - every .addin there is a tool someone depends on.
  2. Check each vendor for an explicit “Revit 2027”. “Latest” is not a promise. Look for a 2027 folder after installing.
  3. Keep 2026 installed for projects that stay on it; most add-ins (Parapet included) install per year side by side.
  4. Test on a detached copy of a live model: open, run the three tools you use daily, sync. Ten minutes saves a week.
